Std 9 Visit to Community involvement in Afforestation (Dated: 03-02-2026)
Grade 9 students visited the forest area of Sarnal village, Thasra on 3/2/2026 as part of an educational
field visit. The students learned about the formation of ravines and effective measures to prevent further
soil erosion. They were introduced to forest restoration techniques that help improve soil fertility and
land productivity. The functioning and importance of gabion structures in controlling erosion were
explained. Students also gained understanding of ecosystem balance and identified plant and tree species
that survive in such regions. The visit highlighted the crucial role of local communities in forest
conservation and sustainable management.This field trip was in collaboration with FES thereby raising
ecological awareness through education programs in schools and villages.
